MOSCOW, Aug 27 (PRIME) -- Clients of mobile operator MTS-Belarus, 49%-owned by Russia’s MTS, could have had problems with Internet access late on Wednesday because of the measures of law enforcers to ensure national security, the operator said on Thursday on its website.
“As part of the measures taken by the authorized state entities to provide national security, access to the Internet was limited in Minsk on August 26 after 8 p.m. (local time), which disrupted quality of work of services for subscribers. We’re sorry about the situation,” MTS-Belarus said.
Mobile operator A1 said earlier it slowed down traffic in Minsk for some time on demand of the government.
Belarus has been in massive protests and unrest since August 9, after announcement of the results of presidential elections.
